Workers' Health and Safety Representative (WHSR) - Awareness Course

As defined in the Health and Safety at Work Act – Act XXXIII of 2024, a workers’ health and safety representative (WHSR) is a person elected, chosen, or otherwise designated to represent workers in all matters related to the promotion and protection of their health and safety. Among other duties outlined in the Act, employers must ensure that where a number of workers are employed, a person or persons shall be elected, chosen, or designated to act as WHSR. These representatives must be consulted by the employer in advance and in good time on any matters that may affect health and safety at work.

Course Objectives:

  1. Develop familiarity with occupational health and safety (OHS) legislation.
  2. Raise awareness of the role and functions of the Authority.
  3. Understand the duties of employees.
  4. Be aware of the duties of the employer.
  5. Understand the role of the WHSR.
  6. Empower WHSRs to contribute effectively to workplace risk identification and assessment.

Course duration: 12 hours.
